City spaces

City spaces are places, traffic intersections, streets, pedestrian areas, ways, bridges and underpasses, public transport stops, public parking bays as well as multifunctional zones of parks and green areas inside the settled city. In a larger sense also earmarked green spaces like cemeteries, playgrounds and sport and school arrangements could be city spaces too.

These are the places and facilities, which permit recreation, relaxation and leisure activities to the inhabitants of a city. They arrange and structure the city, serve the improvement of the city climate, they combine functionality, relaxation quality, aesthetics and sensuousness to a good quality of city spaces for all.

The population again increasingly perceives places and parks in cities as parts of urban quality of life and as a stage for the public life. Therefore, plannings for public spaces need a high acceptance in the population. That's why it is important to create in the cities a culture of discussion, which openly picks out the varied aspects and attempts of city creation as a central theme.

We want, together with our public and private principals, to develop for these places inside our cities a contemporary creation which, above all, takes into consideration the claims of the inhabitants and users.
