Places
City places as places of public life and urbane communication attract people of all social layers and all ages. They are considerated as spaces, but are - in geometric aspects - roofless things.
All European cities live, above all, from their places. These are the places where self-confident old town houses and magnificent communal constructions have assembled to form urban city spaces. From the ancient world up to modern times, places always have been the centre of urban life. City places are the places where urbane identity expresses itself.
As the European city itself, its places have undergone radical changes in the last 150 years: The dynamism of city development between the beginning of industrialisation in the 19th century and the knowledge-society of the 21st century shows itself in the change of function and aspect of the city places.
We would like to be part of this change and to help in giving back the value to our places they once had.
